Boost controller
Hello
I am about to fit my boost controller and was wondering if i have to remove the original boost soloniod that is on the o/s inner wing or do i bleed the air off the hose that goes between the boost soloniod and the wastegate? Also i need to fit and boost gauge what vacume hose do i tee off is it the feul reg one or the dump valve one ? Also there is a thing next to the solonoid on the car which has a plastic blanking plug over a vacume nipple can i take the boost gauge off that ? What kind of boost can i run using standard injectors and pump and fpr ? Cheers jamie |

Cheers jamie "T" your boost gauge directly off the inlet manifold if you have a spare connection ( on later cars) or "t" off from the MAP sensor or recirc valve vacuum line. How much boost you can run depends on what car you've got - Have a search on this forum...there's plenty of info out there :) - My MY00 WRX ran 16psi OK on the standard fuel pump and 440 injectors. ( before it was remapped) Regards Richard |
Cheers mate thanks for the help so if i run 1.0 bar is should be safe as i only have 380cc injectors

You 'should' be OK running SUL/optimax (+OB if it's an import)
Best to have at least a Knocklink and ideally a WB Lambda, for monitoring. :) Edited to say... Don't hold me responsible if it ends in tears ;) |
are they that bad then i dont want to go bang if you know what i mean . Where would i get an knock link and wide band lamber sensor from?
