My cats poorly

My beautiful Siamese show cat got out last night, and we could not find him, He came in this morning ripped to shreds. He has been fighting with the resident stray cat on the farm. His face is really bad, the vet says its because he did not run away. He fought his territory. I have to take him back on Thursday, because his eye is so swollen, they could not see if anything is in there, ie a claw, or even his eye. I'm a bit upset.

donutman 15 March 2005 11:47 PM

hi will be ok, at least it is not like mine. her kidneys are failing i have to take her in every few months and she has to be flushed through.

Lee247 15 March 2005 11:54 PM

It's awful isn't it. Pets are like family. As long as yours is still here and I hope she stays a good while longer.

Turbohot 16 March 2005 12:25 AM

They are like your family.Mine got hit by a car 6 months ago.I couldnt sleep for days seeing her in agony:cry:
Take it easy babe.He will be fine.Just needs loads of TLC.

Im so sorry to hear that, I will keep fingers crossed for him.

He obviously wasnt going to back down when it came to defending his territory! Tough one I'm sure, lol

TheBigMan 16 March 2005 09:49 AM

Good luck mate, hope all works out well with him. :(

The Trooper 1815 16 March 2005 10:58 AM

I have had Siamese and they ain't scared. Well done him, hope he get's better.

Leslie 16 March 2005 11:32 AM

Those feral cats are bad news, we have some down the road and our old chap has had a few arguments with them. He has a few battlescars to show for it.

he got hit by a car as well some years ago and was badly injured with a broken pelvis and water on the brain. He pulled through thank goodness and is 18 years old now-still acts like a younger cat!

Hope yours will be alright with no serious injuries that won't heal up.

Sorry to hear it mate. Cats bounce back very well. What doesnt kill them will make 'em stronger.

I used to be VERY protective of mine but now understand that it is in their nature to fight territories etc.

They learn survival skills quite quickly...

I usually see mine running away from cats about twice the size of him. :lol1:

Hi Lesley

Two of our cats recently had fights with a stray and came off worse. One had an infected bit on his tail that meant he couldnt stand up and the other a bit on his chest that was bleeding everywhere when i got in from work. A few trips to the vets and some tarting up (thanks alot Petplan !!) and they are right as rain now (3 weeks later).

Hope yours gets better soon.

wouldnt it be nice to know you have the toughest cat on the block and that you wouldnt have to worry about it? Might have to do some research on breeds before hand next time :)

A friend of mine saw two cats gang up on a fox and give it a good going over.

Some cats have absolutely no fear of humans either.

Damn, hunting with cats was never banned. News shock, ajm gets new friends in his fight against the fox.

As for the sick moggie, as others have said they are remarkably tough. One of mine was hit by a car and had a smashed leg socket on its pelvis, had surgery and within a couple of months was walking as though nothing had happened and the leg that was affected was only held in place by muscle and ligaments :o My two also used to attack foxes if they came into the garden, never quite understood how such a vicsious creature such as the fox (if you believe the pro hunt lot that is) didn't rip them to pieces

Catwoman 17 March 2005 10:14 AM

Siamese cats are generally quite territorial and become good fighters.

What other domestic cats have these traits?
