My Friend the Mercenary
 

Did anyone see this last night? It was made by a journalist who's friend was involved in the planned coup to take over Equatorial Guinea (of Mark Thatcher fame). I caught the second half and was astounded at:

a) How easy it would have been to actually do it
b) How incompetant their attempts were!

The journalist's friend in question got sentenced to 35 years by a kangaroo court in E.G. without any real evidence.

Anyone for a SN group coup of Equatorial Guinea? It would mean free fuel for everyone! :D

Just give a bunch of locals some guns and ammo, $100 and some booze. Tell them all they have to do is run round shooting government officials, recruiting other 'downtroden' people to the cause and the stuff will keep on coming. Instant 'Rebel' troops. CIA and KGB spent 30 years doing it all over the world. Yes it is as easy as that
