Resonator removal - MY99
Hi,
I am looking for some instructions / pictures explaining how to remove the resonator box so I get some sort of induction noise. Also would this affect my MAF sensor? Thanks Chris |
Chris: The resonator 'cut' is simple.
Jack car up having removed the front driver's side wheel (RHdrive!) Remove the front plastic inner splash guard to expose the resonator (it's bigger than you think) Inside bonnet, unclip the air filter box and the scoop above the headlamp. The resonator can be removed. Cut the majority of it away leaving enough of it to reclip the scoop and airbox to. Reassemble the lot. Your MAF will be ok Your airflow will be a bit better Your 'hissing' induction noise will be barely increased If you realy want a hissing induction do not do the above. Find/fit a cone/mushroom induction system. You may have MAF issues You will have a lot of hissing You should tell your insurance company Is it all worth it? :norty: Graham. |
Cheers for the info. Im not going the induction kit route so I will follow your instuctions and have a go at clipping the resonator box. It seems simple enough to do and if it increases air flow a bit then its worth it!
