opinions of a sti 7/8 scoop on a classic
as above please both intake temp reduction and looks wise.
cheers stevie |
A definite no no for the 8 scoop, you could possibly get away with a 7 scoop if you were that way inclined.

no no . looks to big imho .
|
8's too big for the classic, but the 7 would look great :D
|
Personally, I think an 8 looks great on a classic. Also I've been reliably informed that the 8 scoop can lower intake temps by as much as 18 degrees C...

Shaun Well said that man!! :D:D:D |
Yes they are!
Except when they are spoiled, like that. |
LMFAO
|
just by putting a sti8 scoop on !!! don't think so :cuckoo:
|
Not just an STI8 scoop. Chavvy headlights and non-original wheels. Why buy a P1 and turn it into something else? :)
|
PS. The scoop IS enough to spoil it, but then, I'm a purist.
|
If you fit an STi8 intercooler, then the bigger scoop is needed - so cosmetic becomes functional.
|
The scoop isn't needed if you fit the STi IC.
Buy the air splitter from an MY03 STi and hack. IMHO the big scoop on a classic is what a p3nis extension is for a 70 year old - it may give the impression of being virile and up to date, but the failing wrinkly body tells you otherwise. ;) |
I didnt buy my car for the looks, in fact some people (mostly girls) have commented that its ugly. About to fit a hyperflow TMIC and will be going for a STi 8 scoop to reduce intake temps, functionality over looks for me.
|
To try to answer the original question the STi 8 scoop will give a reduction in temp, how much I dont know. However Bob Rawle has suggested to at least 1 Subaru owner that I know to fit the biggest scoop possible, in order to gain the most benefit from his work, but it was on a car intending to produce over 300bhp.
I know Terry's P1 has more bhp than standard and even if it didn't cant see that there is any need for some of the comments that have been made - chav headlights, 70 year olds what on earth is the matter with people? Oh and by the way the gold wheels were an option on the P1 as were 18" rims. Regards Gary |
I think that the Mona Lisa would look better with a tash, me. What do you think?
|
There's a classic for sale at my local Scooby garage with the new scoop on it, and it just looks all wrong. Not a fan of them I'm afraid... Classics look best as they are.
