Opinion on if my US version STi would sell in UK

So what do you think? Does my left hand drive US version 300 horse 2005 model have a chance of selling in the UK? i was thinking of putting it up on ebay uk. I brought it over to use for the winter and have decided to sell it before I return home in a month. Its basically a brand new car, I have only put 3000 miles on it. Thanks for the input.

Your best bet might be to call a few of the companies which specialise in importing performance cars; they'll know how to go about getting it registered (if it's not already), plus they have a better chance of finding buyers. I know US cars have been sold (in tuned form) to buyers in mainland Europe - in the UK the market is more for Japanese-spec (RHD) cars fitted with the US 2.5 engine.

I wouldnt have thought you would get what you want for it, what with the twin scroll JDM car being the "right way round". AFAK insurance robbers take a very dim veiw on left hookers, even more so than normal imports. Might be wrong.

Insurance would be tricky, plus shipping and import taxes, but your biggest hurdle would be how to get it through an sva as you would need a model report iirc which if not available could cost you a few thousand.

Have you paid import duty and VAT on it or do you have a concession? Thatd be a nasty surprise for a mug punter wouldnt it?

Left hand drive cars are subject to different SVA rules.

Interested to know.

Has the VAT been paid? I also have a USDM STI here in the UK. I have been wandering if I should try to sell it, but I honestly thing most people here in the UK would get raped trying to insure it. The VAT has not been paid on mine and in the event that I decided to sell it. It would cost a fortune at todays exchange rate. I managed to breeze through my MOT In Feb. With minimal changes. Have you been MOT'd yet?
