prodrive or not?

hi
can anyone tell me how you can tell if a 2001 WRX has been prodrived?
looked at one the weekend, described as prodrive. had the exhaust but is not described as prodrive on the log book.I s there anyway to tell by looking under the bonnet?
many thanks.

As far as I'm aware nothing goes on the logbook.

I recently bought an MY04 STI with PPP but nothing on the logbook.

I beleive its the exhaust, fuel pump, ecu - not sure if anything else.

I posed the same question a few weeks ago and was advised to look for the Prodrive stamped exhaust.

Is their a certificate? Mine came with a certificate of install for the PPP

Under the bonnet on a WRX the intercooler hose is changed from a black plastic one to a blue Samco style "flexible" one and it has the Prodrive logo on it.

WRX kits don't have a fuel pump change but do have a centre decat as well as the back box changed (STi PPP is a sports / high flow cat rather than decat)

UK cars get a certificate AFAIK but EU ones that have had PPP don't. As you've said, there's nothing put in the logbook but a dealer may be able to tell from sticking the VIN into their computer...

All cars with PPP come with a certificate stating that the kit has been installed and the date of installation.

If the seller can't produce it you can check under the bonnet to see if the samco type hose has been fitted (only one of them on newages I think) and pull back the carpet in the passenger footwell and I think there's should be a sticker of some sort on the ecu casing. If the car has a boost guage you can also check what boost it is running although if you've driven a standard car you should definately be able to tell from the performance whether or not the PPP has been fitted.

Hope this helps

Nothing regarding certificates with my Belgian one fitted with PPP in UK - just a dealer receipt to say I've paid...

ring prodrive, they can verify if the car has been prodrived you need the certificate to prove it is pukka prodrive and not just backbox or someone with several prodrive parts bought cheap.i needed the certificate for insurance as well to prove it is prodrive

I have a MY01 WRX with PPP

There should be two blue hoses at the front and left hand side of the intercooler with Prodrive logo on, the ECU and fuel pump is changed too but not sure if it easy to spot difference just by a quick glance, I am sure if you can get a test drive take it to an exhaust dealer and for a swift fiver pop it up on ramps to check centre section is a decat one.

I am sure anyone wanting to sell a PPP will have kept receipt at least of payment surely to warrant validity?!?
