Cheers, i'll give them a tinkle and see what they say. If anybody else has used them? some feedback would be appreciated. Thanks |
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO PROGRAM AN APEXI POWER FC USING THE DATA COMMANDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DAYS! and days! and days! Trust me, if they want the business then ensure thay use the Datalogit software available to tune the Imreza. Personally, get Andy Forrest (andyf9000@hotmail.com) to come down and map it for you, he is a top quality bloke who knows his stuff. I'd condiser doing it myself but I don't have enough experience on the Datalogit software right now (only got it 2 weeks ago!) Russell |

Check these 2 threads for an idea of which mappers:
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...3&page=1&pp=20 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...7&page=1&pp=20 Mapper depends on location and how much you are willing to charge... Personal Experience, Andyf is waaaay up north, though a good mapper and Pavlo closer down south also a good mapper... :thumb: Best contact them ask for costs, though its not tooo much, after all if you can afford to get a commander, you surley can afford to have it mapped, again, and again and again...(after every mod) :D But no, you do not want to be mapping using the handheld commander, its a very painfull process! |
Andy f gets about the country.
He tries to block book people for several days and spreads the travel costs amongst you. Andy did mine and 407 bhp speaks for itself. :D :D :D Graham. |
I doubt very much i will get the commander, apart from not having a clue what it does or how to use! i have no place to stick it!!! No comments please......
Cheers for the info though Sam, a pretty good read so far. |
Dont want to hijack but :D what approximate cost for andy f to do his stuff on a my95 wrx??
and from a std vehicle with usuall big bore exhaust hks filter etc what would be projected power possible to achieve? running on optimax fuel without ob? 320 bhp possible??? or would it require uprated fuel pump/injectors?? ? |
Look at www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk
I think Andy charges about £200 to travel to you, which isn't bad considering he is in Edinburgh. Dave. |
Not questioning Andy's work...as i had a map from him also...just poiting out that there are local mappers also.. :)
I mounted my Commander here..: http://photobucket.com/albums/v607/s...t=01-05_24.jpg |
Definately get Andy F to map it.
I did and I am over the moon with the results. Cheers Iain |
AndyF for PFC's ...
363 for my little wagon on TD05 / TMic :) |

Andy charges around £180 to map, or £750 to supply, fit and map a Power FC. Commander extra I believe. If your MY95 WRX is a saloon then I guess you would get about 280 bhp with your mods. Upping the boost for more power would really require fuel pump and regulator, then later better intercooler and larger injectors, for much over 320 bhp/lbft. |
Does Bob Rawle do Power FCs as well? Think he's based down in Swindon and also has a good reputation for good mapping.
|
Bob Rawle is good / has a good reputation, I don't know if he does PFC's, call him and see!

thanks Vulnax999
question was for a m8 that wants me to get him a car but he would like about 320bhp i was trying to give him a rough price so if we got him a cheap type ra and then set to modifieing it to get the power were he wants it so idealy if we mount a evo6 front intercooler get some bigger injectors + walbro fuel pump and regulator 320+bhp should be possible after mapping the PFC?? stuff like the decat we can easly fabricate |

The 95 model is either 240 or 260 bhp ( forgot which ) and 20 bhp less for the wagon version. The further mods would of course push the power up further! The amount would be similar but limited by the actual car engines - rev limit, valve sizes, cam profile and lift, porting, headers, turbo type, etc.'s - limitations. Differences between WRXanmd STI most marked, then a little between the STi and Type R and Type Ra. |
