Body Service - anyone get this done

Does anyone got the body services done?

I recently purchased an MY04 STI (first registered 2nd Jan 2004) but it doesn't seem to have had the first body service done (should have been after 12 months)

Is it now too late to get this done and stamped in the book or will the dealer still do it - also how much does it cost and is it worth it??

Cheers

I've had the treatment carried out - 6 months late on the 1 year service (because the garage didn't rate the stuff they had to put on apparently). also had the 3 year treatment carried out (6 months late), seemingly no issue with the garage.

Cost: £160 approx. both time.

Is it worth it? Who knows?

Cheers

Body service is not worth it, wouldn't effect resale price so save your money!

I was told by my dealer that it was a load of bollox......
Having seen the prices and bearing in mind that other manufacturers don't insist on this crap (as far as I know) then I would tend to agree.

I would do a proper job and Waxoyl the car, done this to most of my cars and in a day you can do a real thorough job. It’s also quite therapeutic.
Best done on a nice hot day cos the wax flows better, the car is dry and it's just more comfortable.

Just got it done, £80 at the Subaru dealer, car completely steamed cleaned underneath and lovely black heavy duty wax applied to all relevant parts. Yeah I agree it won't add value, and it probably could have been done for less by me, but I don't have steam cleaning facilities - however, with the c**p on the roads at the moment it just feels right to have it all freshly protected.

Not keen on underseal myself, it tends to peel off and trap moisture behind itself. I've seen the factory applied stuff peel off.
Waxoyl is the way to go.

Alright mate, sorry I've not been down to look at you're new beast yet. (Jen had a killer dose of flu which in turn meant I got it :( and we didn't want to risk passing it on to your better half.)

If you want the stamp in the book then go for it, (you never know if you provide them with it they might use Waxoyl instead of the Subaru crap and still give you your stamp.)

If not then I'll give you a crash course in Waxoyl application, just let it get a little warmer first :D

Oh and I've got my SX on the road at last (just not had a chance to drive it yet thanks to this bloody flu.)

Body inspection service £45+vat at KT Green, Otley, Leeds. Price varies dealer to dealer. I phoned 3 and was quoted £125, £100 and £45. You can guess who got my business  If it was £160 they could stuff it
