Rob,

Do you know if the pre97 STis have an IAT? I'm presuming not but would be good to be proved wrong.

Tony.

cheers rob ill give it a miss then mate, just out of cureiosity what do,(should i say, suposed) to do. and what does it knacker up?

All it is, is a cheap (mega mega cheap, less than a penny, cheap) resistor that you use to bridge the IAT Inlet Air Temperature sensor. This convinces the ECU that you are gobbling in loads of really cold air, the ECU responds to this by advancing the fuelling to increase the power. This will work short term but without actually getting the cold air in to the system all you are doing is overfuelling, which leads to borewash generally followed by BANG!

Don't anyone do this ever, please.

Note to Mods, this is twice in a week someone has asked about these things, is there any chance of a sticky on the subject?

Celox Performance 24 February 2005 02:25 PM

yes there is a chance but be very careful what you say. The owner of the forums has the sole responsibility of what is being said and can be sued personally if the information is inaccurate in any way!

"Advances the Fuel to increase power" ?!???!?? sounds like your as confused as the guy selling these. Extra fuel is no good for your car but the moderate increase this mod will make won't be that much of an issue. However the IGNITION advance this mod will make will kill your engine if not monitored. As mentioned before these resistors are pence and makes me seething when I see these adverts.... :(

ive sent it back for a no questions asked full refund, cheers chaps, ill save up for a re-map instead
