NF octaine booster quantity ?

Just obtained 5 bottles of NF race octaine booster and was wondering what is the best amount to add to a tank of optimax ? im running a 96 wrx import .

1/6 of a bottle for road, 1/3 for track is what I use.

StickyMicky 21 February 2005 06:26 PM

Why not get a small measuring cup. Pharmacy, doctors surgery, hospital or whatever.
You can then add exact amounts.
Instructions say, and for normal road use, 1ml/litre is satisfactory.
2mls/l for more spirited use but if you have a knock link you will soon have it sussed.
On empty my tank takes 50 litres so 50mls is adequate. Add NF before petrol.

Karlos102 22 February 2005 11:15 PM

1 or 2 mls

So would you say 2mls would be fine for road use or 1ml to be safe ?

Cheers

Doesn't really need to be exactally 50 ml, all depends when you re-fuel. I usually put around 50 ml in at roughly 1/4 tank left.

jb2000 23 February 2005 09:06 AM

Take heed of this ! the filler-tank pipe has a dip in it that can easily hold a bottle of octane booster !!

while i see this where do you all get NF from???? online or local to you???? just price searching for some thats all.... :D:D

Adam M 23 February 2005 10:43 AM

I use a whole bottle per tank, just for safety, but some may consider that expensive and unnecessary.

Andy.F 23 February 2005 10:54 AM

Some have reported plug fouling/reduced life at high concentrations ?

NF from Pentland components, RCM, AS Performance and no doubt Conrad will be along to try and sell you some soon too ;)

Priced from £11-£14 per bottle.

tuscan57 23 February 2005 01:15 PM

:D:D will try them all im sure....... who has the best price tho????? ;)

jb2000 23 February 2005 01:38 PM

yea don't forget Conrad, he must be out or hasn't spoted this one yet ;)

£10- upwards down south :D

tuscan57 23 February 2005 01:40 PM

bargain just sorted..... £20 for 10 bottles of millers..... :D:D someone has a large amount and has sold the car .... :D:D

intresting, perhaps the racingline dont stock NF?
:norty:

harvey 26 February 2005 12:01 AM

NF is far superior to Millars Octane Plus.
If you read the blurb on the side of the bottles you will see that Miller`s admit that themselves. Remember that 10 Octane points = 1 Ron.
One bottle NF per tank is silly. From the technical stuff I have read and an independant test report I believe there is no gain from anything in excess of 3mls per litre.
The NF importer is Roger Clark Motorsport, Desford, Leicestershire and they have numerous distributors but it is available mail order. I stock it for fellow Tyne Tees Scoobies members but cannot be bothered with sending out by mail.

How much is in a bottle of NF?

Tasberley 02 March 2005 05:51 PM

does any1 use millers cvl or millers turbo octane booster????

i know the millers other stuff is pretty poor...

ive found millers cvl to be quite good personally.

Aztec Performance Ltd 02 March 2005 05:52 PM

isnt that the quite cheap stuff?

Aztec Performance Ltd 02 March 2005 05:54 PM

some tests done here:

http://www.gtatech.com/news_au_articl.html

NF seems to rank at the top. Smaller doses needed to.
