TYPE R OWNERS!
 
Assistance please had the rad changed on fri temp stayed ok,just went on a good run about half an hour reved no more than 6500 revs and the water temp shot right up :eek2: Does anyone elses Type R do this on hard drivin?Can not understand it,Just bought the car and all ive had is greave :mad: Comments much valued please :)

Air in the system?

Was it bled properly following the rad change? Sounds like that's what it needs if not...

It's bound to be an airlock, unless you're losing water. did you let it idle when topping it up?

Ummm... There was a post about a 'proper' way of removing airlocks. Something to do with squeezing the air out of the top hose and re-topping-up the header.

Looks like its the head gasket :cry: as now there is small amounts water in the oil(around the cap etc)Only just bought the car had nothing but trouble with it :mad:
