How much HP can the std air intake handle?

car is an MY05 STi. I am planning for a FMIC,, Bigger turbo, ECUtek etc. Will eventually push close on 400hp.

Was thinking of putting in a K&N pancake, or should I go the whole cone route?? I am just scared of MAF problems

Any advice appreciated!!

*BTT*

Should I go for an APS induction kit?? Advice please :)

The APS is a load of pi55 in IMHO and it would be unwise to fit it without having the MAF rescaled/remap. The possible consequence is an engine running lean and picking up a piston in the bore.
If you look in projects, you will see Bob Rawle got very good power from quite modest changes and I suggest you get in touch with him. (BRD- Bob Rawle Developments)

Thanks mate.

What do you think about APS turbo's and FMIC's??

I am in south Africa :)

Pitzi you will find Bob Rawle's thread in projects. must warn you it will take an hour to read but is very informative. I don't think you can keep standard air box if you chose front mount option.

I have no first hand experience of the APS turbo but from what I have picked up I have no reason to believe they are other than moderate. Certainly the results I have seen have been nothing special.
The FMICs are good but expensive. They are not made by APS. Also look at Hyperflow, an Australian manufacturer of intercoolers.

MRT FMIC's any good?? Anyone used them??
HKS??

I really want to go for the best kit available here ;)

As for the APS SR400, I have read on the Rexnet forums that they reckon an AVO 400 is way better, apparently the APS isn't much better than the VF34, which kind of defeats the whole point.

I wonder how the VF PE series squares up??
