Going to London in a bit need some direction please

Hi all. Could anyone help i need to be in Essex on a sat for a few hours in a couple weeks but i wanted to go shoping in london and stay in london but want to make sure i dont end up on the otherside of london to far from essex. Anyone able to recomend a hotel or an area in london thats on the essex side or near a train or whatever. Im flying into stanstead and havent a clue where im going. Should i just stay in essex and go to london on the train or is it to far ?

Any help would be great thanks alot.

Where in Essex?

Stansted Express takes you into Liverpool Street Station. Liverpool St Station is good for Essex. Liverpool Street Station is excellent for tubes.

Therefore, you could try & find a hotel near there, EC2, to stay in.

What Puff said basically :)

Have a look at London Hotels - there is no such thing as a truely cheap hotel in London, but you should at least get a decent deal. Also, have a look at the London Underground site - good for journey planning. The tube is the best way to get around. If you get a hotel outside of central London - you'll find it much cheaper.

You've got a couple of specialist independents like Xtreme Scoobies - they are a Defi dealer. They are in Essex, but whether you could get there would depend on if you have transport. I guess you'd have to speak to them first - call Knowlsey to find out.

to be honest, liverpool street area and surrounds of the city are crap, in particular if you go for a weekend, it will be dead, even in the week after 8/9 pm. You would be better off making sure you can strike within central/west end for the evening/day, depending on when you arrive.. its only a tube or taxi ride away..

Not biased, just work in the city, and i can tell you.. once darkness or the weekend falls, not worth bothering about..

Cheers
