Removing Wind deflectors
Stepped out of the car and broke the wind deflector( good excuse to get rid of 'em, ugly things why do they put them on in the first place ?) mine seem to be held on with clips and a type of glue /resin how do I remove them without the need for a respray , tried the gentle approach and they seem to well attached ,trouble is they run full length on the wagon and I'm already thinking of the brutal approach !!!! any ideas ?

Heating them should work; Id use a heat gun very carefully rather than your girlfriends hairdryer.....
WD40 will magically dissolve the remaining clue when its cooled down. Simon |
Recent thread about this, when I commented that i had removed mine as they were ugly and totally pointless the bloke who started the thread was singing their praises and they were around £120! Some people have no taste ;)
Had a garage remove them for me whan I was having some work done, came off a treat with no damage. |
Did you notice any difference in wind noise?
Got them on mine and thinking of cashing in on them...:D (£120? - I could have a Defi guage for that!) |
what wind defelctors?

Plastic strips that run up the a-pillar and over the doors.

Do as Scoobynutta did and get a garage to do it for you. I removed mine myself with the good old trusty heat gun and wd40 method and i now have a £200 Respray job to pay for.!!!!
No matter how gentle you are i guarantee you will take some of the paint off with them.....i spent hours and it still looked like a dogs dinner when id finished. Gav. |
