Bug eye RA

Did they make a bug-eye type RA, if so whats the spec and are they only available as Jap imports?

Apparently a U.S. import would have a larger capacity engine ?

Yes only available as imports, the Jap spec STi Prodrive v7 is a type RA.

From October 2002 there was a full production STI Type RA; the GH-GDB. There doesnt appear to be a WRX Type RA. There were 16" and 17" wheel production versions; the 16" car weighed 50kgs less and the 17" car 30kgs less than the normal STI (1430kgs).

V LTD sti type RA 10 February 2005 03:54 PM

The name 'RA' is derived from Race Altered. The Type-RA deletes a number of standard fit items from the specification in order to save weight for two reasons: firstly theyll be discarded in a competition car (hence the RA being the cheapest model in the range -1992-), secondly it allows the car to be homologated at a lower weight.
