WRX OWNERS PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have posted for help on this topic before without success.

My WRX 03 has developed a tapping noise inside the car in the area of the rear parcel shelf/screen area (generally the nearside) i have checked all the usual loose jack ,jack handle, seat belt, loose seat.plastic trim etc. to no avail.

Before i strip out all the rear seats and parcel shelf can anyone advise if they have experienced this problem and any remedy.I have asked my Subaru dealer to look at the last service and they could shed no light(actually did not seem interested).

could i insist they remedy this under warranty if all else fails?

PLEASE HELP AS IT IS DRIVING ME SLOWLY MAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!!!!

Try taking it to another dealer.

I had the exact same thing. Dealer sorted it, supposedly it was one of the catches that holds the rear window in place.

There's a Subaru Service Technical Bulletin which states to the dealers:

1. Ensure boot lid hinges and torsion bars are correclty fastended.

2. remove the rear seat lower and upper squabs. after removal check the four bolts situated in the vertical bars around the ski hatch to ensure they are secured correctly.

3. confirm that the torsion bar mounted under the lower seat squab is tight and not fouling the body when flexing.

4. ensure seat belt mountings are tightened correctly.
