Nurburgring - Easter 2005

I'll be going over on 24th March, back on 28th March.

If anyone fancies it, the train is £119 Return.

Quite a few people are going over and we are meeting them there. However if you fancy joining our little convoy then stick your name down.

Any questions steve@the-nurburgring.co.uk

There are going to be literally thousands of cars over there ....... I hope you dont mind queues. Not a good choice of dates IMHO

Nevetas 02 February 2005 12:27 PM

I'm going just to take pictures, so ideal choice for me :)

"MADDOG" 02 February 2005 12:50 PM

Nev, I will strap you into my car and you can take some on the way round :thumb:

Not long now ( next month ! )

regards "MADDOG" :D

Karl 227 02 February 2005 01:07 PM

Best hope the snow stops so that they can re-surface it then :)

"MADDOG" 02 February 2005 02:23 PM

Bring it on, perhaps they could put a slalom on going through the "Fox Hole" :norty: I've also known it to snow in May !!!! You never can tell ? adds to the excitment.....I hope :)

regards "MADDOG" :D

"MADDOG" 02 February 2005 02:25 PM

Karl 227, what part are they re- sufacing ?

regards "MADDOG"

Karl 227 02 February 2005 02:40 PM

Quidellbacher Höhe, a little bit at Metzgesfeld and at Brünnchen. They're also changing some old kurbing halfway down Fuchsröhre, and paving the Adenauer Forst run-off area. The problem is that they've taken off the old tarmac but it's been too bloody cold to resurface it ever since.

"MADDOG" 02 February 2005 03:09 PM

thanks for the info Karl 227

regards "MADDOG"

Nevetas 02 February 2005 03:16 PM

cwt, getting the 6 o/c sailing Thursday 24th......weather permitting of course, I know its 4 weeks time...... but they still need to do repairs to the track, every thing is crossed for a bit warmer weather

"MADDOG" 03 March 2005 03:22 PM

Gary, did Karl tell you this ? or is it on a "Ring" website ? just in case I need to cancel my ferry / hotel booking.

many thanks "MADDOG"

Gutmann pug 03 March 2005 03:40 PM

Havent spoken to Karl about it but I know its the case.........

I'm going out on the 20th, was supposed to be watching the VLN and driving the track on Sunday, before leaving the car there and flying home. The chances of the track being open are looking ever increasingly slim though. I'm sure Karl will be along soon enough to give an update.

I will still be coming over though Karl ...... even if its to walk / sled the track.

Gary

"MADDOG" 03 March 2005 04:29 PM

thanks Gary

Bettie 03 March 2005 05:51 PM

Wow, we *never* get snow over here. That looks fun!!

Karl 227 04 March 2005 08:15 AM

Sorry chaps/chapesses & Gary, but I don't think it's going to happen. :( The problem is that they still have at least 4 days of work left to do with the resurfacing and for that they need a ground temperature of +8°c. It's been about -10°c for the last few weeks and a covering of about 15-20cm of snow on the track. It's -5°c at the moment and snowing lightly, I think it'll be a miracle if it's open for the easter weekend. I'll keep you updated as the weather over here does have a habit of suprising us.

Gutmann pug 04 March 2005 08:48 AM

You still may well see me and Dave on the 20/21st Karl.

Karl 227 04 March 2005 09:33 AM

I should think so.

"MADDOG" 04 March 2005 09:40 AM

Don't think me and my son will be coming either  , I am trying to get in touch with Nevetas and co to let them know also. Will just sit and watch John Felsteds vidio with my Peltors helmets on. Gary, Karl thanks for keeping me / us updated on the weather hope to see you all in April.
