Advice on Data Recovery

We have just had a big Fire at work approx £150000 damage.

We are a small design/development company and upstairs part of the building part of the building has been gutted.

We had 2 PC's upstairs which have been completely destroyed, we have a back up system in place using Sony AIT2 drives, so all important data has been backed up, but we have never had to reinstore data.

I have the following questions

Can the data be backed up elsewhere on our network? as the 2 computers dont exist anymore.

Can I pick and choose which files to reinstate?

We use back up my pc (veritas) as we are running a peer to peer network.

Any advice greatly recieved

not sure about your exact set up, but it seems that you should be able to "re-create" the two PC's using the last 'back up my PC'. Windoze should look after the drivers etc etc, but the restore will give the same OS, ids, programs and data

Dont want to recreate the drive's if I can help it just want to place backed up data on one of the other drives on the system.

We wanted to buy the proper veritas software buit they told us we had to have a server to run that. They sugested we use there "Back up my PC" software.

I am hoping I can use the software to drop just directories onto other drives.

We will see!

Cheers for the reply

Forgot to add we are on Windows 2000
