OK, downloaded Desperate houswives and having burnt them to a cd-r find that the audi sync is way out.

I am using Nero to burn as a video disc, are there any settings I should be changing?

no ideas then?

A bit more info required really. Whats the original format ? avi (divx/xvid) or mpeg ?
What type of disc are you trying to create ? DVD, VCD, SVCD ?

Original format is an .avi I believe (what kind I don't know) and I am trying to burn as a vcd onto a cd-r.

Does this help? Lets say it was a divx file what should I do?

Just follow the Nero wizard, as you have probably already done. First check that the file plays fine on your PC then . . .

Nero Express -> Video/Pictures -> Video CD -> Add the files -> continue to burn.

You shouldn't have to change any settings at all.

If you still have problems, check your hard disk for fragmentation. If you still have problems, try another program :) I've found Nero/Nero Vision Express pretty poor for Video encoding, especially to DVD.

works very well for me. You don't get to make menus but it's very fast

Been using that too RB5-Black :) Best I've used so far, very simple and outstanding quality. Its the only decent software I have used that automatically chapters the DVD without any stuttering. Converts a full movie avi to DVD and still only uses just over 2Gb to do it. 2 films at superb quality on one DVD :)

out of curiosity......... how long does that 'new' program take to encode to DVD format ??

I generally use NVE III but allways keep an eye out for new stuff.....

Its a little unfinished at the mo, so the progess bar is a little unreliable :D But, I would hazzard a guess at 1-2 hours for a full (1h 45mins 'ish) movie to DVD vobs. I usually set it up and walk away, so not entirely sure. Certainly far, far faster than NVE and also Tmpgenc DVD author.
