Are you asking if the trans comes with a 'special' front diff?

ie a limited slip diff rather than a simple 'open' diff?

I think the RA came with a viscuse front diff, but my reference book is at home.

A $1000 for a broken diff is bad, too much unless the parts are special and you plan to transfer them into a good case.
In England, a good RA trans with dccd will sell for about £600 ($1000 ish).

If the case is broken it's been in an accident or dropped from a great height!

Graham, it's a while since you bought an RA box with dccd then isn't it? £600 wouldn't do it these days.

However, it doesn't seem a particularly good deal offered above, as to rebuild a dccd box that required a new case would be quite expensive before any parts are required. Front diffs are usually free spinning.

One on E-**y but not sure if its DCCD or if it's a genuine RA box, seller seems slightly un-sure from his wording.

The front diff is an open type one on that year of car, and it will have DCCD IF it is a STi Ra gearbox. ;)
