is it possible to play this without having a steam account...

my nipper want to play but he lives with his mun and doesnt have internet access

how can we get round this??

any help would be appreciated

I dont think you can, as when you install the game you have to connect to the net for valve to decrypt the software.

if you have a cracked version you can....

Aye, legally you can't. I think it's a bit of a bugger to think that everyone has broadband access now :( Even if you had dial up, it would take ages to download the steam stuff.

Bring his PC round to yours, install HL2 and select off line mode in STEAM. That way he does'nt need an internet connection when he takes the PC back home.
