Photoshop
 

Hi all

I may need to get a copy of photoshop but I have a slight dillema.

It will be for business use (family business) but we do not have £700 or whatever the actual cost is for the latest version.

Ideally what I would like to get would be an older version, obviously the product cant be bent, needs to be completely legit for it being used in our business - does anyone know of where I can buy an older (cheaper) version?

I hope this all makes sense.

Have you considered Photoshop elements? Its a much cheaper version which comes without some of the pro-level features that make up the £700 cost.

Its only about £65 and good enough for most things, depends what you are doing with it though.

Make sure you get version 3, much better than previous versions.

ok basically what I will need to do, will be -

(please bear with me as I am not a graphic designer in anyway - we all have to mix in at work)

import images, crop and adjust sizes, change colours, alter images (adding and modifying images), setting up for printing on transparencies (this will be undertaken by the printer as apposed to the software, but aslong as I can change layouts for printing images upto A3 sizes - thats about it.

Another vote for Elements 3.0. I have Photoshop CS but the missus uses Elements 3.0 and there isn't much difference for the average user.

You can get an old version from eBay - anything from 5.0, then buy an upgrade to Photoshop CS for about £100.

Microsoft were on the TV the other day saying that software bought from ebay was pirate most of the time.
