Alloy wheel refurbishment

I just bought some secondhand bbs alloys, one of them needs a "gouge" sorting out on the rims... which are polished.
* Can anyone recommend somebody in the Northants area that could sort this out.
* Also is it trickier to sort out with the rim being polished ?
* What is it likely to cost ?

Any views appreciated, thanks, Rick

Rokay and BrynO, thx for the links....looks like my bargain wheels are not quite what they seemed...

True!! if its a painted finish, you can just patch with some 'chemical metal' and take a spray can to it, you should be able to get a match to any colour at Halfords with their mixing system, I've done this a few times with success. Or again if it's a painted finish I found chips away pretty cheap (£40 odd) as they just spray the front of the wheel in situ which is less involves than the specialists process which means tyre off, blast the whole wheel, repair the damage, then powder coat both sides... if its polished and not too deep, maybe some light sanding with wet and dry, polish, clean down with thinners and a can of lacquer..

If they have a chunk out of them, get them tested for warping etc. I had a set for a cav (not my cav) that were awfull when they got on the car!!

The lad didnt care like cause they cost him so little but you couldnt tell from just looking at them.
