Can anybody give me a typical quote for a system instalation??
Took my scooby to several stereo fitting outlet and they dont seem keen to give prices?
I want as following fitted:
Kenwood headunit (w6527)
Component speakers in all doors (kenwood psr51p)
6x9s in rear deck
Two Kenwood amps and a power cap,
Two 12" Kenwood subs in stealthboxzs
Any ideas of any good fitters in kent and does this set up sound ok??

that is very similar to my setup and all you need to do is use some dyanmat in the boot which will keep the boot rattles to a minimum. it depends what kind of install you want? if it is something fancy you will be paying top dollar but for a basic install my brother charges between £100 and £150.

Thats sounds quite reasonable i was thinking of building my own shelf off the back seat for the amps with persex covers, its mainly wiring, i know the basics its just i wanted professional fitting as they do it day in day out and they know the tricks of the trade, Does your brother fit stereos for a living then??

he is a chemical engineer but he does ICE installs for a hobby, been doing them for about 8 years now, next project is an Mazda rx7. thats what he has done with mine a board on the back seat with amps, earth and powers blocks with the cap in the middle. i will see if i can get you some pics. what he did was make two templates for the 6x9's to sit on top, so he could reatain the standard shelf and raise them high enough for the sound to get out. this is in a classic but the prinicple can be applied to any car.
