Cheaper Insurance

Hi Guys

Found a way to get cheaper insurance, thought I would share it with you in case you havn't heard it before.

Get your Mum, Dad, Wife or Girlfriend to be a named driver on your policy. I'm 22 with a 54 WRX, I save £400 off my insurance by putting my Mum on it. I'm with admiral. My brother saves the same amount on an M3.

Worth looking at when you re-new your policy.

Try it on www.elephant.co.uk. Seems to work there.

Just to clarify,
Do you mean put yourself down as the main driver but also your mother down as an additional driver for example?

Tried that - my wife and dad both have SP30's - so my insurance went up...

Could I technically put my dad on the policy and not declare the SP30? It's not like he'll EVER drive the Scoob?? Hs own insurance would cover him 3rd party, anyway

My father drives my car now and again, he's 61 and has a clean licence.
By adding him I saved £70 a year! well worth doing if your additional driver is a good risk.

The fact she doesn't drive wouldn't matter, it'd just be the age. my old boss put his wife on his insurance (She doesn't drive, never has done, nor does she have a driving licence). The insurance was considerably cheaper with her on.

What do you say when they ask if they've got a full clean licence? Just lie?

Yes mate.

Doing a quote online will show you how much of a difference in can make. My Mum has a clean licence so that obviously helps.

Do that myself, just note, elephant and admiral are one and the same, admirals online name is elephant (found that out cos everytime i ring them about my claim i get told!!!!!) instand £400 off for having my mum and sister on policy, wahoo!!!!

I go on line with Esure, I found them to insure me cheap.
I have a 1 year old rav4 and i pay aprox £400 full comp,10% discount on line.
but it will depend on other matters also.
