dials and guages

Hello all

how easy is it to get the dials and guages etc on a MY93?
Want to change the speedo dial and wondered how awkward this would be
cheers

Its not too bad, although steer clear of the fuel guage needle, isnt built to come off.

Usual half dozen or so screws hold it all in, with the speedo cable just pulling out IIRC.

Undo the screws in the black cowl around the clock, remove it being careful to undo any plugs going to the switches. Undo all the screws holding the actual clocks in. Adjust the steering wheel to its lowest setting. Pull the left hand side of the clock towards you whilst pushing the right hand side of it away from you and twist it top to bottom at the same time (gently it wont go far). Now reach behind it and remove the plugs to the clocks from the left hand side. The bundle of wires actually runs from the other side of the clock and is clipped to the clock at the top. Reach in (small hands/ willing child would be helpful) and remove the wires from the clip. Now push the left side back in and pull the right side out and remove the plugs from that side. Reach to behind the speedo and remove the speedo cable, its just pushed on but may take some persuading! Now just jiggle the clocks about until you can persuade them to come out. If you're having difficulty, you can VERY carefully remove the plexiglass cover from the clocks while they are still in place and just fit the dial that way, but be warned its clipped on aswell as screwed and those clips are hard to move in such a tight space without damaging them.

Have fun, Tony.
