Do Premium bonds people.......

send out circulars? Reason i ask is my ex wife has called to say she has received a letter addressed to me and she says its a circular asking if i want to buy some more bonds.

They are daft because I have £30k worth, wife has and my daughter too!!

Yes - regularly.

NB - it suggests you haven't told them if you have moved - so your ex would receive any winnings also !!

pslewis 17 January 2005 10:41 PM

The only thing it suggests is that they have a promotion on at the moment

Yeah, I got a circular as well today.

So, depending on your situation it could mean you have money in bonds you haven't told her about, but also she is opening your post.

Don't get stuff from them very often, but had a circular today basically asking if I'd like to buy more bonds.

Oh, and they did send me £50 just before Christmas, which was a nice pressie off them :D

I thought the circular might just be down to Gordon being a bit skint now I've not got my scoob as he's missing the petrol tax! :P

John.

I've received that circular a few times now. Ever since they raised the limit from 20k to 30k they've been trying to get people to buy more. They're not the investment they once were - you're better off sticking your money in high interest account and buying a lottery ticket every week.

Premium bonds are basically a way of the govt borrowing your money at a cheap cheap rate. The fact that they are sending out begging letters would suggest that they are strapped for cash - mmmmmm..... nothing new there then
