3 port soleniod - Add Greddy boost controller?

Please help......

Got 3 port soleniod and I need to add Greddy boost controller.

Had my tek3 done on my WRX02-UK. Just bought a greddy profec b2. for occasional use.

How do i connect the greddy soleniod in conjuction with new 3 port solenoid ? The greddy controller is a single port type.

Do I connect the new one after 'original 3 port' or b4??!!!

Any advise is appreciated.

cheers

As Chris has said you should just use the greddy soleniod an dnot try to connect in with the OEM equipment. If you turn the boodt controller off when connected in this way it will leave the boost @ the wastegate crack pressure. Probably around 0.8bar.

Why would you want to turn the boost controller on and off anyway???? You do know the Profec can store 2 preset boost targets?? So have one at the orginal boost pressure and one increased.

Tony.

Tony, thanks for your advice.

The reason I want to keep the original 3 port solenoid is to keep the original boost level when I turn the greddy off, ie back to original tek3 set up (as i only intend to use it occasionally).

When i had the tek3 remap i was upgraded from OE 2 port to a 3 port solenoid. I have been told that the greddy controller if set on same boost level as whats on the my tek3, it will boost earlier and may not suit the remap.

This is really doing my head in. Is there anyother way out?!!! any1???

Mike, I'm in a similar boat.

I had a 2 port on my Sti v3 and had a Blitz controller fitted 3 years ago to cure a fuel cut issue which it did 100% perfectly (1.31 bar setting on the Blitz). The ecu is a stock Sti v3.

I an now into a deeeeeep modification on the engine and will be using an Apexi FC.
I have a new 3 port on the car, but there is no way to connecting it to the car as it stands, the Blitz has it's own, and the Subaru sol is redundant.
Some poeple tell me the 3 port is better than the Blitz so which to fit? (and how), so I am leaving the 3 port there, electrically connected, but the bottom/side port linked to each other by a tube and the top port to atmosphere.

I'll leave it to the mapper (Andy F) to make the choice for me!

Hope this helps, I do know how irritating these issues can be :norty:

Thanks 911,

If I end up taking my oe 3port off and have to fit new single solenoid, I will defo mess up my tek3. Now I am thinking to save up for the full wack..... VF34, Larger TMIC, FP, F Inj then down to BR for remap.

So now i might end up selling my new Greddy Profec B2!!!
