Afterburner to Ninja?

Ive currently got an Afterburner Vortex but need to get something a bit quieter due to it attracting the wrong kind of attention! Is the Ninja a good compromise and how much quieter is it?
Also is there any benefit in having the Ninja centre section with silencer?
Could I fit the centre section silencer with the vortex and reduce the noise?

Cheers

ninja

I have a ninja on my 2004 wrx and it is quiet when cruising but loud if you drop a few gears.

Not a bad rear box, looking to decat mine soon.

Cheers

Gordon.

Why don't you just get in contact with Hayward&Scott, and buy the bung for your Afterburner....Got to be cheaper than replacing it with another exhaust?

Had the PPP centre section with my Vortex and seemed very quiet well compared with when we decatted the centre.

Def will make it quieter inside, sint the PPP centre section cat free???

.....i went from a Ninja to an Afterburner.
The Ninja is much quieter and easier to live with even on a full decat as i have.
I do love the undoubted power gains i get from my afterburner on a full decat and the incredible roar, but the noise is beginning to do my head in at times.

A bung sounds a good idea....If H&S make you one keep us posted on what difference it makes...i would be very interested.

We fitted a bung on a Evo 8 last week( wasn't our exhaust ) he need it for a track day anyway noise tested before and afterwards and the difference was 6 DECIBALS quieter, didn't think that was too bad.

Ian, Do these bungs involve drilling holes in the exhaust and are they easy enough to put in or remove?
More importantly, would a bung alter the flow of my angled exit Afterburner Vortex and thereby effect performance?

You do have to drill a 6mm hole in the bottom of the tail pipe ,this is to hold it in place thus making it easy to fit / remove. You will lose a bit of perfomance but it is the same old thing again........compromise.
