Replacing Prodrive 330mm kit with AP

Has anyone got any experience of changing the Prodrive 330mm 4 pot kit for an AP kit?

I currently have the Prodrive kit, but the pads and discs are shgged and need replacing - I'd be grateful for some opinions as to whether I'm better off replacing the discs and pads, or upgrading to a 355mm AP 6 pot kit (same price as the 330 AP kit and I have 18s). Is there ogoing to be much of a difference?

Thanks for any opinions on the above!

If you don't want to pay the extortionate price for the original discs, get hold of Ian Godney at Godspeed, he makes discs and beels for the alcon kit!!

I went from the alcon kit to the ap 6 pot kit (via the brakeman kit but the less said about that kit the better). Stopping wise, no real difference but the Ap's will do it again & again & again where as I just warped the alcons.

The split bell / disc helps with the heat and the discs work out at £300 per set rather than the Alcon £££'s. As Ron has posted thou, worth looking at the replacement bell/disc route as you already have the h/duty calipers (I did try at the time but Ian was to busy :( ) so got the AP's sorted and have been happy since :D

As suggested, get two-piece discs off Godspeed and keep the Alcon calipers. Better and cheaper than Alcon (one-piece) discs. Alcon/Prodrive calipers are excellent.

I,d go ALCONS without a doubt

Alcon now make 330mm rotors ( the Alcon Advantage range) to fit 2 piece kits that will work in the Alcon calipers. Unfortunately, being helpful chaps, they won't supply the bell, but as mentioned above godspeed/hi spec/EARS etc will make those for you

Or sell the Alcon calipers to me :) and buy the AP kit, believe me you need it...as I need the Alcons too!

The prodrive brakes wont be no contest what so ever against AP Brakes

AP Racing 6-pots are just fantastic and even better on track these kits are worth every penny.

Alcon calipers are very good bits of kit. Can't speak for the rotors tho'. AP excellent agreed, but calipers probably no better.
