Ebay and Feedback :/

A friend of mine has just signed up for ebay and is trying to earn 'Buy it now' status. http://pages.ebay.co.uk/services/forum/feedback.html

username:mofoevo

Why is it that he has five different feedback reports but only a feedback rating of one?

This is taken from the ebay page :-

However, a member can increase or decrease another member's score by only 1 no matter how many transactions they share

As with negative feedback, once you have received a + you can earn no more from another ebayer.

buying .99p and 75p worth of stuff wont give him quality feedback

most people who use ebay look for solid ebayers who buy and sell on a regular basis and have quality feedback of substance

the hole idea is to build a reputation

aye, checked out a plasma on ebay, the guy only had 5rating but was 100% but since I was looking at spending £1700 I checked out what he'd bought and sold and 3 of his transactions was buying feedback. only 1 item was worth about £350 a stereo that was sold looked good but decided against using him since he was new to ebay
