upsizing to 17s

I have a MY00 and am considering upgrading to 17s, whats been your experience regarding the handling improvement over the standard 16s ?

Also anyone fitted BK wheels, I like the look of the 299, but I have only seen them in the car mag adverts and had not heard of them before.

There's a few users on SN with BK299's in 18"
If you're looking at 17's go for a 215/40 tyre, more common then 205/45, and a minimum offset of ET45. Spokes will clear the calipers.

I changed from standard 16" to 17" on my 1998 car.

I actually thought that the ride improved!!!!!!

Steering is sharper (I have fitted an anti-lift kit too mind you!!) and they just look so much better.

Gone from 205/50/16 Eagle GSD2's to 215/40/17 Toyo T1S's and find they are a lot better.

Looks better, could find neither improvement, nor worsening of the ride or handling.

I found the ride slightly harder, but not a problem.

You need to try and keep the weight about the same or less than OE. I added about 2kg's at each corner which I've not found to be a problem.
I don't know how much the BK's weigh but it might be worth checking, from memory a MY00 16" with Bridgestone is about 15kgs.

if youve got the F1s, then the lower profile sidewall makes a big difference to the turn in, much more precise, noticably less squidgy!
