impressed with Toyo T1-s Road noise :)
just bought 4 new toyo 215/40/17 T1-s from leigh tyres (£260 delivered!) and am very impressed with tyre noise on the run down to the in laws over xmas...
M1>a42>M42>M5 historically a noisy trip in the scoob (using Eagle F1's) even after soem recent re-surfacing work on the Mways.. was still bloody noisy. (road- not zorst) on xmas day- was wonderfully quiet on cruise (4k in 5th approx) Glad I have gone back to toyo. |
Chrome... why did you not buy the T1 R instead :)
|
saw the results of the T1R on a recent track day.
didnt seem to impressive. not one owner I have spoken to prefers T1R over the 1-S for either fast road or track work... plus.. T1-S are FAR cheaper ;) way better VFM imo |
hmmmm I had t1s b4 on the car but now have T1Rs and I find they are better in the wets and Dry, now regarding snow ....will lets in know in afew more days :)

each to their own..
|
4k in 5th..... that not somewhere close to three figures?? :D
Gentle cruise my ar$e!! :p ;) Cheers, Grant |
but not under boost conditions :D
gentle is a relative term!!! :D |
I think the T1-S's are pretty poor myself. I'd rather put up with the noiser GSD3's than use Toyos again.
|
i wasnt a fan of the gsd3' s.
i find the toyos give me more feedback and are more progressive when they let go (unlike the F1's I found) anyhoo- VFM toyo cant be beaten imo |
wear rate ?
Just about to change tyres and thinking of going with Toyos how do they compare on the above to other brands - Bridgestone, Yokohama and Good Year ?

I got T1-R on my MY03 UK WRX, and i am impressed, BUT, i aint no skillfull or on the limit driver so i cannot comment in that respect. From what i read on here you may err towards the F1's me thinks?
|
and you may find that they dont live up to the hype dependent on your expectations..
|
New GSD3 Eagles aren't on a par with the GSD2's that everyone raved about (IMHO, of course).

T1R`s that Chrome is going on about, are certainly are over hyped.
I can feel them getting considerably better as a few more miles are on them though I will be going back to Bridgestones next time. I`ve now driven T1R`s on th limit, and they are easy to drive, very predictable, but compared to Bridgestone RE050`s dont offer the same grip/or feeling of grip. THis was at relatively low speeds ie between 30-80 mph, but at full attack and exactly the same car setup. Willy |
Pirelli P Zero Assimetrico's RULE
|
wait til the snow mate- then you'll HATE the Pzero's ;)
ozzy- thats my point. |
