How much do you want to spend? ;)

Your looking at:-

Turbo
Brakes
Clutch
Remap
Exhaust (full system)

Thats for starters really.

Turbo priced at around 600 quid
Brakes at 500
Clutch at 400 though you may as well wait until the first one goes as they are not that good with big power
Remap will be around 750 quid
Exhaust will be around 400-500 quid
Filter of some description (50 quid)

So over 2k if you want that sort of power.

Tony:)

Im sure someone will come along soon with a rough spec list you would need to make that sort of power. However, with similar mods that you had on your supra, your wrx would kick out around 260-280bhp. When you work out that a PPP (Prodrive Performance pack) works out at around 2k, and only gives you around 240bhp, its easy to see that for a reliable 350bhp, you will have to spend alot more than just a few pennys!!! Just for a start:

TD05 Turbo
Uprated fuel pump + injectors???
ecu ( apexi FC )
uprated clutch??
knock link
Intercooler upgrade
Exhaust system

Then get a decat exhaust system. Don't forget though that on your car, you will need an ecu 'fix' when you remove the cat. ( bout 20 squid) Try www.scoobyworld.co.uk for either a Ninja or Vortex exhaust system which should include backbox, centre section and downpipe. Don't worry about an induction kit as they don't really make any difference unless you are going for 400bhp+. If you could stretch to about 1400, you could buy an apexi power fc ecu from Andy F on this very forum.

Good luck mate!!

is noz the only way 2 make 300bhp with under £1000

thewrxbug 27 December 2004 04:45 PM

ty chris gr8 help looking at links now

Yup. But this is rather expensive in the long run if you use it a lot. I have a pretty much standard sti 4 which made 294bhp on the rollers. Since then all I have added is a full blitz decat exhaust system. This make such a difference to drivability which, lets face it, is more useful than just bhp. If I were in your shoes and gradually wanted to extract lots of power, I'd get the base work covered with a mapable ecu such as Gems, Link or Apexi. I know its an expensive outlay but you should see a healthy bhp and torque gain, (around 40bhp and 40-50ft/lb ) with an decent exhaust system.

ecutek ecu remap it say 290bhp used in conjunktion with performance ex system all for £760 fitted incvat can this be true

thewrxbug 27 December 2004 07:33 PM

anyone

Pavlo 27 December 2004 08:07 PM

anyone what?

I think your question has been answered.

Buy the following:

Turbo - TD05 16g (£250 used)
Injectors - Sti 505cc/min pink ones will do nicely (£200 used)
Full decat exhaust (£500 At a guess)
ECU remap - Most important, nothing for less than £750 available really.

Standard clutch will be fine provided you don't abuse it (ie slip it loads on launching)

Paul

Thats the right price for the ecu. Allow anywhere from 400 to 600 pounds for the performance exhaust. As for the claimed 290bhp, I thinks thats a tad optimistic but the actual figure wouldn't be far off from that. It's the increased torque that you will notice.
