Remote control cars

Well, middle lad asked for a remote control car at last knockings before Christmas Eve, so I didnt tell the wife as we had already got everything sorted and remembered they had some in Halfords on offer so I bought one, kids have had a quick go but I have really got the bug again, forget how much fun they are, for 50 quid its not bad but its only 2wd and the handling is a bit crap, its fairly quick considering its and out of the box job and it looks the part (Blue Scoob).

So not having had one for years I now fancy a 'proper' R/C car, I think I would prefer an electric one as the petrol ones seem more aggro than they are worth, I also quite like the low down power with an electric motor, plus the lack of noise is a bonus living in a cul de sac.

Used to have an Optima mid custom with all the add ons and that was great, whats the equivalent and where do I start looking, not aiming to compete, just want something rapid for blasting up and down the road for me and the kids, would be happy with a running second hand one if anybody has one they want to shift.

I am 34 and am having my eighth childhood.

Cheers for the links, those petrol ones look good but the noise is horrendous, plus I bet they are very expensive.

Hmm, I wonder how much better these modern 3000mAh NiMh batteries are compared to the old 1700mAh NiCd SCRC's?

10min battery life with a modified motor was always rather annoying ;)

May get my old Bosscat works down from the loft for a play :D

I was wondering about the batteries seeing how much mobile phone batteries have progressed over the last few year, I was thinking that the new techonlgy may not be suitable for high amp application.
