stockcar 28 July 2005 08:36 AM

been quiet for a few days...........................

martyrobertsdj 28 July 2005 10:00 AM

Tra la la la..........I'm here now....the peace is shattered!!!

Not been here for a while. Busy with a house move ..... doing it ourselves too, so nice and busy with wagon loads of stuff. (7.5Te wagon.....not Impreza Wagon!!)

Our final load will be on Monday, so don't think I'll be at the Tuesday meet. The wee man in at hospital for tests and he'll be returning to a "new" house, so I suppose I'd better be there.

Alyn......I'll pop in and see you soon.

Hope everyone is ok.

I'll be living closer to the Teesside lot after Monday, so may have to "was it you" a few of them.

richiewong 28 July 2005 03:29 PM

Well off to Penrith tomorrow for a stag do, hopefully it'll stop bloody raining by then.
Paintballing on Saturday, just oiling the gun now:norty:

richiewong 29 July 2005 10:49 AM

Still bloody raining and its that fine stuff that soaks you right through:D:D:D

SCD Simon 30 July 2005 11:04 AM

mickywrx 30 July 2005 10:41 PM

Anyone able to tell me what piston slap sounds like or maybe in the gateshead area tomorrow to have a listen cos i think my engine sounds not quite right. :Suspiciou Also what damage can be done if it is "slap" Ooh and how much to put right? Hope my felloow geordies can help out. :thumb: Or i could meet someone local if you's can help. Cheers.

oscarprezza 31 July 2005 01:10 PM

slap

piston slap shud only normally be heard when the motor is cold and usually goes away when the motor has heated up and everything expanded ie pistons, rings etc etc, one of my mates has a bit of slap, until thouroughly heated upon , been told that it is nowt to worry about as long as the motor runs ok and doesnt smoke /burn oil or rattle /knock etc when warmed up, to be honest subaru flat fours r not the most quiet smooth motors out there, and there r all a bit clickety when cold, u checked ya oil, also the later wrx and sti motors ie version 3 onwards have solid lifters which also give a bit top end/side noise, again supposedly nowt 2 worry about cheers

mickywrx 31 July 2005 07:53 PM

Cheers for that, not sure if I'm just being paranoid :Suspiciou as most of the time it sounds alright but then I start thinking that it sounds funny. :cuckoo:

Paranoia's a not so wonderful thing ain't it.

Michael

oscarprezza 31 July 2005 08:16 PM

thats ok, i might got to the meet at chester le street on tues, thats if the weather is fine , cos the sub dont normally go out in the rain and its in the trader this week and dont want 2 get it up to the eyes in case i get any bidders round 4 her

mickywrx 31 July 2005 08:39 PM

You should come along, weather is meant to be nice. :thumb: Be nice to put a face to the name. :)

oscarprezza 31 July 2005 08:53 PM

its not my face , its how bad ny hair is at the moment , am just new to this scooby net and comp stuff but have had sub 4 a few years now , on my fourth at the moment, hopefully when mine is sold i will be gettin a cheap ra or sti ra for a winter/track toy, cos the current sti is really to good to abuse and stands me far too much cash

mickywrx 31 July 2005 09:56 PM

You're new, only had mine 3-4 month and owes me a fortune. Mods + new clutch & recon box. :( But all's well now. :) Cheers Alyn. ;) :thumb:

Quiet in ere tonight, and is it just me but is SN runnin a bit slow? :)

StickyMicky 02 August 2005 08:29 PM

car is run in, feels much faster, not sure if thats the mudburner still in my viens?

i have had a thought, at the RR day i was honestly expecting 330ish bhp
the boost, the fueling, no knock etc etc, it should have smashed down 300bhp with a chocolate spoon

it did not do that
wondering if there was a fault sumwhere which got "fixed" in the rebuild sumhow, we do know sum of the valves were not sealing or closeing properlly etc etc

maybe the turbo to uppipe/downpipe gaskets were leaking?

you know when your stomach kinda clenches up when its scared lol
mine did that today the first time i opened her up (its been a long time scince i went even remotley fast TBH)

will give steve or sheck a shot and see what they think, there probably better to judge then me at the moment :freak3:

StickyMicky 03 August 2005 11:53 AM

just bought a motorbike :D

https://i4.ebayimg.com/02/i/04/9d/35/f8_1_b.JPG

looks fast

stockcar 03 August 2005 05:51 PM

Micky, your heads were in fairly poor conditiion prior to being o/hauled so this would most likely have caused a loss of performance at a minimum......................

don't go over-boosting your shiny new toy!! LOL

alyn

StickyMicky 03 August 2005 09:13 PM

would the pops and bangs cause the head/valves to go a bit crappy?

after sum proper testing ive noticed that the boost has infact increased with the new parts fitted, not dropped

will have to turn it back down a smidge

allready looking at the NOS kits for the bike

richiewong 03 August 2005 09:53 PM

Ahh a minimoto, gonna keep it in the boot and use it everywhere?
