Inlet manifold - Paint, Powder Coat or Anodise?

I'm thinking about sprucing up a spare inlet manifold that I have and am wondering what's the best treatment for it. Maybe I should just use a couple of aerosols of Plasticote paint from Halfords which seems to be durable and chip resistant. Any strong opinions out there? :)

Is the Halfords option a wind up or are you serious?

I think the paint would flake off over time. 2k paint may work better.

Would anodising have any effect on the thermal properties of the manifold?

What about polishing the manifold? May look quite good.

Powder coat it.
I did mine in blue, it looks great, paint is too much of a mess about and may not like the heat, For a bit extra, powdercoat.

This was discussed in some depth on 22B 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Might be worth a read.

Hi all.

Thanks for your replies. The Halfords option wasn't a wind-up: I've used that paint before successfully and it's supposed to withstand 180C. With the anodising I was wondering about the longevity and durability of the coating but didn't consider the effect (if any) on the thermal properties of the manifold  Ideally I would just have gone for powder coating but nobody local does it although I can get anodising done. Anyhoo, taking up Andrew's suggestion, I'm off to have a look at what 22B says about it :)
