05' WRX Ride Height - Is this normal ?
Hi all..
I've been posting pics of my new '05 WRX on lot's of forums, as you do like, and have been getting lot's of comments about how high the car seems to be sitting. Even though I've got the 18" prodrive alloys on it...hmm... Link to pic here http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...p/b55448ba.jpg What do you guys think ? Change the springs for some prodrive ones perhaps ? TIA ! |
Yes it's up on stilts at the moment, you could put a tent up under the front wheel arches LOL, what you need are the Prodrive spring kit which keeps acceptable ride but reduces ride height by 20 odd mm front and rear.

Improves the handling no end too! :D

Definitely get the "warranty friendly" prodrive springs if I were you. Eibachs are available but would probably screw any warranty claim for suspension problems over the next 3yrs.

it may settle a little more, remember it`s brand new

Just got a quote from the dealers to supply and fit the prodrive springs and realignment etc of £550. Sounds a lot but might be worth doing as I'm getting it PPP'd anyway at first service.
Presume the Prodrive springs are fine with 18" wheels though ? thanks |

Shop around for the Prodrive springs. There was a thread a few weeks ago detailing the different prices dealers are charging for the springs, fitting and geo set-up. My local dealer (Gatwick Subaru) will charge me just under £400 (inc SIDC discount) but from what I've read on here..... the kit can be had for £300! My Wagon looks pretty high too... http://www.eastsussexscoobies.co.uk/misc/newwag.jpg J. |
Thanks - will have a search about - did that price include four wheel realignement as well ? The dealer said it wasn't absoulutely necessary but recommended and that was £130 on it's own I think..
Nice wagon ;) Anyone got any pics of WRX's on Prodrive springs to compare ? Thanks |

Gave my wrx the prodrive spring treatment last week...£336 all in (include full laser align'). Shop around!!

Prodrive Springs are the "Dogs..." IMHO
IIRC they lowered the Front by about 20mm and the rear by 25mm ish on my MY02STi ;) Tony |
My 05 wrx has settled a little (now 2500mls) but i feel it still needs to be ~25mm lower..!
I presume the current prodrive springs will fit the 05 wrx as it now has 'inverted' struts..? Just a thought. Jason |
