Anybody know where Saab cars are built?

Does anybody know? Are they all built in Sweden, or are there factories around the world? The more detailed the breakdown, the better please! Cheers.

It looks as thoug they are all built in Sweden at the monment, however in the future they may be built in Japan as well as.

So, in answer to your question, Saab's are still all built in Sweden.

I think it depends on the model Tel. IIRC the convertibles used to be made at a plant in Finland, but the bulk of the range are made in the Trollhaettan plant. The Trollhaettan factory currently produces 120 000 cars per year, with 5 600 employees including 3 400 production staff, so that would seem to be the bulk of their production.

The 9-7X will be built at GM's Moraine assembly plant in Ohio from early 2005.

Thanks, Tav - that's getting me close. Can we say for SURE though, that 50%+ of Saab's cars are built in Sweden, at the moment?

I think the Finnish plant is the one that TWR and Volvo used to own?

Safe to say, I reckon. The produce 120k units at the Trollhaettan plant, annual unit sales 131,706 in 2003. Saab (US) shifted 47914 units on top of that.
