Sorry to say......

.......due to the engine going on the Scoob I've gone out and bought one of these....http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...f/f60832e8.jpg

It's a nice dark purple Mtsubishi Legnum VR-4 2.5 V6 Twin Turbo, it's got a nice 280 bhp to boot!!
Could have got the Scoob engine repaired but we decided we wouldn't trust the car with us and the little fella in it after a rebuild or new engine.
Always fancied the VR-4 so I've gone and got one!!
So if anyone fancies a nice reddish blue turbo wagon drop me a PM.

How are you finding the Legnum? Quite fancy one of these myself, best looking estate car you can buy, IMHO.

scoobypreza 22 December 2004 09:11 PM

I have to say that it drives much smoother than the scoob, as much as I love the scoob the legnum makes it feel a bit second rate. Everything is much more refined and the legnum is two years older!!
Also get better MPG as well, more load space, much more interior room and absolutely no lag from the turbos, just constant power.
I've gone for the tiptronic autobox which is a dream to use, five speed auto or tiptronic, it just pulls and pulls.
Much as I love my scoob the legnum just seems to do everything a lot better, only snag is it's a bit bigger!!
Nice sound off the V6 aswell.

Interesting to hear what you say about your car.
I have use of a gallant vr4 ralliart auto, looks virtually the same.
I have to say the ride is very harsh, lots of road noise, heavy on the stearing.
The car is mint its 1999,1 previos owner, full history.
I have to say i am not impressed at all with it,and its now up for sale.
I much prefer my scoob.
I am wondering if the 18" alloys and perhaps the fact its a ralliart edition is why its so harsh.
Not a great advert for me trying to sell it,but just being honest.

You didnt happen to buy it from riverdale motors did you, only i saw one there a couple of weeks ago?

scoobypreza 22 December 2004 09:38 PM

Must be because it's running 18's or something, mine runs silky smooth. Got it from a garage right next to Donnington circuit called Charlesworths. Really nice people,I dealt with the owners son.
Try putting it up for sale on www.clubvr4.com you might have some luck on there, good bunch of people just like on here, most anyway!!

I cant complain about how smooth the v6 is,and the car itself is faultless both mechanically and cosmetically.I think it is the best looking estate on the market.
It just feels harsh to drive,i have used my mates 528 bmw estate and its far far smoother.
Thank you for advise on possibly where to sell it.

sorry for your scooby , but don't worry you are not in the dark side :)

Nice motor - think you've just given me my next choice of car.
I was trying to think of something slightly bigger than the wagon, but with similar or better performance and handling - I think this would fit the bill.
Just looked on Autotrader - there's a few on there, but all with traders, and I hate buying from traders :(

They look so intimidating  Nice car :thumb:

Sulli, try the place I got mine from, Charlesworths at Castle Donnington 01332850309, www.charlesworths.co.uk , right next to Donnington Park, really decent people and not pushy at all. Ask for Jack ( the owners son ) or James, couple of great guys, tell them Dave Lee from Anglesey that bought the purple VR-4 told you to call them. Think they had a couple of Legnums left when I got mine, a green one and a silver one, but I know they are always getting more in and could probably find you one as well. If you go there have a look round the Donnington museum aswell, loads of F1 stuff if you are into that.
Happy hunting.
Try going on www.clubvr4.com as well, good bunch of people just like here!

Thanks for the compliments Paul, love the angry front end!!

Waggy Doo - That one at Riverdale loks half decent - are they a reputable place?
