Brake upgrade
I'm going to upgrade the disc's and pads on my Scoob (MY96 WRX Wagon)
Can you advise on the best options available. I'm keeping the original calipers. Cheers Rob |
I'm doing this myself at present. Already got the Goodridge braided hoses fitted which gives a less spongy feel. Demon Tweaks do AP Racing's brake fluid at a reasonable price too.
As for discs & pads, there's a bargain of a group buy of godspeed discs at the moment - £110 delivered. Pads - Ferodo DS2500's seem to be regarded as the best but I'm gonna be going for EBC Red Stuff Ceramics. If I feel I need more I might go for a brake support bracket also. |
Can't go wrong Ferodo DS2500, Pagid's or EBC Redstuff ceramics as pads.
Disc's why not try a set of grooved discs from http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/ |
Rob, IMHO you would be far better off putting the money to a secondhand set of 4 pots rather than stretching the 2 pot small discs to their limit.

And would i use them with the existing disc's ? Cheers Rob |
The four pots bolt on exactly ther same as the two pots calipers, but you need the bigger discs aswell, that where half the benifit comes from!
|
How much is a 4 pot conversion (assuming you are doing the work yourself?)
|
if you get them second hand, about 300 quid for used calipers with second hand discs (from grade-A), perhaps 300 quid for a really nice new-ish set of calipers alone.
Definately the way to go |
Not too bad then, considering youll end up paying £100-£200 for a set of decent discs
