ABS light on
also posted this on the brake section but probably get more response here lol . .
yesterday i fitted 2 brake/rear light bulbs . .led 1's today my ABS light came on,on the way 2 work. was on when finished work as well bulbs were cack so put original 1's back in ABS light still on,,,,,could this be to do with swapping bulbs around or have i got a problem ? and if so,what should i look for ? fitted new discs and pads and hoses and fluid 6 months ago cheers in advance daz |
I have heard that some ABS systems also monitor the bulbs and flag up any faults there. Had this on my Cav GSI a couple of years ago.
It could also be a loose connector under the rear seat (rear sensors) or the front ones under the bonnet on the inner wings (front sensors). Failing that, a fault/broken sensor. It is fairly easy for a stone to brake off the little peg that protrudes from the sensor towards the ring on the hub. Hope this help |
cheers bud
so,it could be a dodgy bulb ? i'll have a look at the holders also, rewired o/s reverse light into fog light recently cuz i got the sti clusters, but that was 3 weeks ago will also check that connector thanks 4 that. |
It's something to do with the LED's having less of a draw on the power than normal bulbs do, so the car picks it up and shows the warning lamp - the capacitor tricks it into thinking there's just normal bulbs in taking the same draw.
I have no idea whether or not the ABS is disabled when the warning lamp is on but I doubt it. |
u got it bud
replaced leds with originals last night light was still on but an hour ago i went out and it was off all back to normal.... cheers lads |
