RE070
 

hi as my p zeros are nearly dead i am looking for replacements. just woundering if the bridgestone potenza RE070 are any good for everyday driving, grip, wear e.t.c.

My '05 STI came with them and I'll be changing them for something else in due course. The car becomes very fidgety in the wet and, thanks (at least in part) to the very stiff sidewalls, the ride is hard too.

They might be exactly what you're looking for, but IMHO although they'd be a great track tyre, for wet bumpy roads (which is what the scooby is meant to be good for!) they're a poor choice. I've heard lots of good things about Eagle F1 GSD3's, so I'll probably go for those next. I had Avon ZZ3's on my last scooby and liked them too.

from what i've heard Re070's a pretty loud as well as slippery in the wet

currently on verdestien ul-tracs and are very impressed with them when comparing them to the previous perelli russos

I've used RE070's on my Spec C for the last 12,000 miles of every day use. They are great dry tyres and ok when its moderately wet. The down sides are you need to be on your guard when its lashing down with rain or when the roads are slippery like they presently are. I've nearly spun the car twice at islands on greasy roads in the last few weeks! Also they tramline very badly when worn. They are up for a change now and i'm going to try T1R's for everyday use and keep a set of RE070's on spare wheels for the summer.

Toyo T1-S or R and GoodYear GSD's are the usual favourites.

I use RE070s, and have found them excellent in the dry, pretty good in the wet (the wetter the better;)) but shockingly scary in the damp.
