That's what I was thinking, you don't just let anybody have a go in one of them and he knew what he was doing!

Abdabz 19 December 2004 09:38 PM

Dont know but I bet he has a wiffy helmet and a smelly suit!

Roblad 19 December 2004 09:39 PM

well, he's got to be Ex F1 - or at least an F1 Test Driver for renault to let him round the Top Gear test track with that baby!!

Mat Mc 19 December 2004 09:41 PM

I think it might be my Mrs and she disapears when Top Gear is on. Did anyone notice if the F1's wheels were kerbed!!! LOL

hugo 19 December 2004 09:43 PM

Why did they put an Evo up against the Audi Quatro? Would it not have been more pertinent to have used a Subaru which has been far more successful in the WRC? If my knowledge of WRC is obviously poor (which I freely admit to), please educate me!

Roblad 19 December 2004 09:44 PM

I heard that it could be Damon Hill??

It's because they wanted the showroom car to win ;)

scoobypreza 19 December 2004 09:51 PM

Heard his namewas Peter something who co-drove one of the winning cars at Le-Mans one time, he was at my local Audi garage recently re-opening it, his picture and name is in our free local rag somewhere, will try and find it.

Mitsi seems to be getting some air-time recently.

Has any asked the question of....How many Stig's there are? ;)

I`d heard he is the test driver for the Reno F1 team, which would explain the Reno F1 car being driven around the track by the stig himself!

ARRON BIRD 19 December 2004 10:32 PM

OK OK I thought I could keep it quiet but you got me.........oh no they only use me when they want a 4WD car to go quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Royton Blue 19 December 2004 10:34 PM

Old Stig: Perry McCarthy
Current Stig: Ben Collins
Guy in the F1: Heikki Kovalainen

Bubba po 19 December 2004 10:39 PM

I thought Reno was a town in Nevada.

RB5_245 19 December 2004 10:40 PM

is that fact?

personally my opinion was john Palmer..... That would explain why the WR1 did so bad on the track. Surely a school child could have driven it better than that, if they didn't have a grudge against the sidc.

Why does he have a grudge against the SIDC?

Pedro_79 19 December 2004 10:43 PM

Who's Heikki Kovalainen????

Anyway if it was this imposter, then how come he looked just like the Stig?
Bet you can't explain that one, can you. :Suspiciou

It's an old story, probably leading to a locked thread :D

But he's probably on the list for driving an F1 car.

Well done to them for keeping it secret
