Toyo 215/40 R 17

Just had new rims and tyres fitted... back one is verrrrry low! What pressure should they be please.

chrome 14 December 2004 11:32 PM

34psi fronts
32psi rears is a good start ;)

Check the valve isnt leaking.. maybe a porous wheel rim? (unlikely)
or even a puncture...

?

Soulgirl 15 December 2004 12:05 AM

Well, I just went up to the garage and the one back tyre was at 10psi!! The other rear I cant check because the air thingy wont fit right onto the valve and the front ones I cant read a pressure either! Looks like Im calling them in the morning to come sort them out :)

Soulgirl 15 December 2004 06:39 AM

And I wake up this morning and they are all pretty flat! Could they have put them on wrong?

He said it couldn't have been anything they did and that I must have porous wheels or something.... good grief!!! Can anything else go wrong? £980 for nothing!

They are here now putting my old wheels back on and will take away the new ones to check them.

I called the wheel company and they are sending me 4 rubber valves. They called Kosei and kosei say's they must have been fitted incorrectly. However, I am not in a position to question a national tyre company about their ability to fit wheel valves.

Protyre say that the valves don't fit properly and that the metal ones are no good anyway. Kosei diagree and say they are far superior.

Anyway, the rubber ones arrive tomorrow so I will be up and running again. I would have thought rubber would be a better fit as opposed to metal anyway but then again Im not an expert.

So, all well (nearly) :D

Where did you get your Toyo's from Karen? I'm having some fitted this afternoon

Soulgirl 15 December 2004 01:03 PM

I got them from Protyre Paul :)

pauld37 15 December 2004 01:06 PM

Sorry just noticed that :Whatever_ . I rang them and they said they dont do them, "they are the lower end of the market" I was told. Getting mine from Mike Stokes. T1-S' though, is that what you've got?

Soulgirl 15 December 2004 01:12 PM

what did they mean by that... the tyres or what tyres they can supply. I called the owner Mike, and he picked them up from his warehouse! I think Tony also tried to get toyos from there and was told the same thing LOL - still, I am living proof that he does have them.

I'm not sure what mine are... except the size... but they are 215/40 RZ 17's. I will look at what other words are on the walls tomorrow when I have them refitted.

Here they are: http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...=m4b0s103p1839

Yeah T1-S', (WOMEN:Whatever_ ) I looked on there too, mine were £295 but after delivery and getting a local garage to fit it would of been about £360. Mike Stokes quoted £346 fitted :)

Soulgirl 15 December 2004 01:36 PM

I paid £350.99 - and boy, are they working for it LOL

RON 15 December 2004 06:17 PM

Sorry to hear of your trouble karen, di you have metal valves to start with then???

Soulgirl 15 December 2004 08:54 PM

They couldn't use the valves I already had as they were too big. The wheels came with their own bespoke valves.

I had an emial back from Kosei who stated:

Dear Sir,

Further to your problem we suppose that the valve is not fitted well because we never had such problem in all life of our company.

Sincerely,

KOSEI TEAM
Should I show that to Protyre?

RON 15 December 2004 09:26 PM

I dunno Karen, all I do know is that trouble seems to follow you around.......

Soulgirl 15 December 2004 09:27 PM

I know!
