Abbreviations you should know, but don’t!

Good example: I think I can guess what "SIAL" means from the context in which it is used. I can even have a stab at what it stands for, but I don't know for sure: "Seen It All. . . ."

Who else has an abbrevation that they've wanted to know the meaning of for some time now?

Anyone got any good/funny ones to share?

Best,

OllyK 14 December 2004 01:18 PM

SIAL = scooby in a lake

Refers to the incessant posting of an image showing - guess what - a Scooby In A Lake.....:D

So, if you see SIAL posted anywhere, roughly translated, it means that it's been posted before, and we're all bored of seeing it yet again...:)

STFU - Shut the feck up
FUBAR - Fecked up beyond all recognition
RTFM - Read the fecking manual

They may be incorrect but that's how I interpret them.

Can't beat the ones you get on envelopes e.g. SWALK Sealed With A Loving Kiss

Personally I kinda like NORWICH:

Nickers Off Ready When I Come Home ;-)

A mate once joked that he made a good misinterpretation of a letter he got with DVLA on it. He thought it meant

Darling, Very Loving....

Imagine his dissapointment when he opened the envelope only to be confronted with car tax reminder!! :-)

Best.
