Netgear switches vs 3Com

Any of you techies out there have any experience using high end Netgear kit? We currently use 3com throughout and am just pricing up going Gigabit to desktop at one of our sites and am not really sure I can justify spending twice as much for a 3com 48 port gig switch than a Netgear equivalent.

Bump... anyone???

I've installed Netgear Gigabit switchs for a number of clients and have never had a problem.....does what it says on the Tin. I've also had nightmares with 3Com kit (over 3 years ago mind) and would not use them again.

Someone will be along with the reverse statement shortly....:)

Not for me Jeff.

I've got numerous NetGear switches of assorted flavours out in the field. Never had a problem with them. The only switch I've had fail in years is a 3Com SuperStack...

We also use Allied Telesyn switches (which are similar prices to NetGear) to give us a couple of options depending on stock levels at distributors.

- just personal experience.
