TomTom go unit

Can anybody point me in the right direction to where I might be able to get the best deal on a TomTom go unit

Thanks

If you, or a mate, are flying out of the country, Dixons are doing them DF for £365 at Gatwick Airport.

Failing that, have a shot here

Dixons and Comet are selling them for GBP399 (including tax/VAT).

But the January sales are not far away ;)

I Tried downloading the speed camera updates and it wouldn't let me. It's supposed to be included in the price I paid, but can't work out how to do it :(

I agree though, bloody good piece of kit

Confused Phill..... I've got one, but the speed camera data is a free download from Pocket GPS, nothing to do with TomTom or the retailers....

babber, make sure your TTG has the latest software on it which I think is 4.40 before adding POI's

Edit - The latest is actually 4.42 but you need at least 4.40.

Yeah that's right, but when I try and connected to them to download the updates with POI Edit, it says I'm not authorised to get the updates??

As far as I'm aware, I have the latest SW on the TomTom.

Really don't know what I'm doing wrong

Phill - Have you definitely got Version 4.40 of the TomTom software? Not the earlier 4.21? No worries either way, as you can update this with a download.

I'm still not 100% clear when you say 'Not Authorised'. Does this message appear on the Go unit, or on your PC, when you try to download?

PM me if that's easier.:)

Just tried it again, Username and Password not Authorised was the error I got. All the other updates (i.e. Postcodes, Shell Garages) went through fine.

Site address is :-

http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/poisync/pockgps.xml

Does that seem ok?

Thanks Phill

Phill, try downloading from http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/uksafetycameras.php

Follow instructions and see if this one works.... If not, you're welcome to PM me for a chat.
