New Vectra GSI 3.2 V6

Does anybody own one of these or knows anybody that does?? Is an option on my company car list.

They get good reviews and the stats are impressive.

thanks.

My wife had one for 6 months. In many ways a good car, fast, roomy, understated, refined, lots toys, BUT
Ultimately boring, engine note too muted, chassis too soft, 28mpg max and much worse if thrashed. Worst feature is the 'climate control' dreadful fiddly on screen menu, damned dangerous and actually doent work v well. Also 5 spd box is clunky and ratios too far spaced.

She now has a vectra 3.0cdti v6 SRI Much nicer, huge torque, 40mpg at least, lovely 6 spd box, no stupid climate control, and actually quite fun! (for a vectra) can even be chipped to 200bhp/320 lbft try one....

I drive the 2.2 petrol and it's suprisingly good fun actually  The handling and feedback isn't as bad as Vauxhalls usually are :) The 3.2's are pretty quick by the looks of it too :) Wish it was an option at my comany :norty: I went for the largest I could :D

Looks like a pile of puke though

Better off with a 4-door Mondeo ST220 if it's an option. Only a 3.0 V6 but similar power and performance I think and far better looking.

It is a measure of how big and bloated and over heavy family hatches have become for Vauxhall to stuff a 3.2 litre under the bonnet and still get relatively poor acceleration, and pay the penalty nose heavy handling due to the massive engine.

Oh and needless to say it handles better too :)

I almost bought one a few months ago. Very good value second hand. Wasn't keen on the looks either so bought an st220 instead! Also considered the Vectra 2.0T but I couldn't find one cheap enough at the time as it was quite a new model.

You need to think about the tax implications too, I imagine such a large engined car will chuck out some emmisions.

wwhhooo you old bouys

TheBigMan - Vectra is 11k and the ST220 is about 16k.

Vectra is a better car "for the money". Vectra is quicker to!!

Friend of mine has vectra company cars, changes them at <6months, so get through a few.

He's had most models and rates the SRi Turbo as the best in terms of fun/performance, although equipment levels are not as high as Elite or GSi
